ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) — A winter storm may track through the southeastern U.S. this weekend, impacting north Georgia. A storm system will track across the southeastern U.S. and produce some form of precipitation in north Georgia. It is likely that rain will impact you at a minimum on Saturday, which is a First Alert Weather Day.
Georgia officials are telling residents to stay off the roads as counties begin reporting deteriorating road conditions across parts of the state due to the massive winter storm moving across the country.
New weather alerts and warnings have been issued by the National Weather Service for metro Atlanta and North Georgia. Much of metro Atlanta and North Georgia is under an Ice Storm Warning until 10 a.m.
