A massive winter storm is moving across Georgia, transitioning from heavy rain in Milledgeville and Sandersville to a looming deep freeze for Metro Atlanta. While the worst of the "icy stuff" has pushed into the Carolinas and Northern New England—where snow totals have topped a foot—the South is now bracing for a dangerous drop in temperature.
Georgia Power utility crews worked Sunday to get the lights back on for customers sitting in the dark during the ice storm.
