Multiple Georgia school districts have canceled class or are going virtual on Monday as the ice storm hits the state

Georgia and Tennessee have agreed to move their SEC men's basketball game in Athens from Tuesday to Wednesday on account of the winter weather.

A massive winter storm is moving across Georgia, transitioning from heavy rain in Milledgeville and Sandersville to a looming deep freeze for Metro Atlanta. While the worst of the "icy stuff" has pushed into the Carolinas and Northern New England—where snow totals have topped a foot—the South is now bracing for a dangerous drop in temperature.

Georgia Power utility crews worked Sunday to get the lights back on for customers sitting in the dark during the ice storm.
